Building a watertight digital marketing strategy for Yorkshire’s damp proof and preservation specialists
13 key search terms ranked at #1 on Google. A further 24 search terms in position #2-3 and 34 more in the top ten. This has resulted in a 57% Increase in organic website traffic since 2019
Danford, Brewer and Ives are specialists in damp proofing, timber treatment, woodworm, building preservation, basement conversions and general property improvement work. Based in Ripon, their team of expert builders and surveyors cover Yorkshire and the North East of England.
The challenge
As experts in their field, Danford, Brewer and Ives first approached Aqueous Digital in 2019 as a result of a recommendation from another customer. They were keen to find a company that could help improve their website traffic and enhance their profile, specifically in Yorkshire and Teesside. We were keen to take on the challenge and help them improve rankings and search visibility.
The solution
Our first step was to carry out research and use analytics to drive decisions on website content. Competitor analysis was then carried out to exploit opportunities in the marketplace.
Their website was then optimised from a technical perspective and a robust digital marketing strategy agreed and put in place.
We then created engaging, relevant content and uploaded it on a regular monthly basis, both, to their website, and on relevant 3rd party websites as part of link building strategy.
Website load speed was then addressed, by ensuring images were correctly sized, giving potential customers the best possible user experience.
Brand consistency was also implemented across a range of platforms and page titles and meta descriptions updated along with fixing broken links and improving website security.
We also introduced local SEO content including contact numbers on all localised pages along with optimising Google My Business listing to improve rankings.
Results
Since first starting to collaborate with Danford, Brewer and Ives in 2019, we have helped increase organic traffic to their website by 57% (July 2020).
13 priority search terms are now ranked at number 1 on Google. A further 24 search terms are in position 2-3 and 34 more are in the top ten. This is critical for driving business as positions 1-3 generally attract 61% of all clicks and less than 10% of Google searchers venture onto page 2.
As a result of this increased web traffic and Google ranking dominance, they are now seeing a significant increase in prospective business enquiries through their website.
“We now have about a years’ experience of working with Aqueous Digital and are very happy with how our website is performing. We have found all of our contacts at Aqueous great to deal with, very friendly and efficient, and we have benefitted from the range of individual skills that they have in-house. Aqueous’s reaction, help and understanding during the COVID 19 problems, which many businesses will have experienced, was also very helpful and much appreciated.”
