Last week, the Aqueous team gathered at the Holiday Inn, Runcorn for our bi-annual State of the Nation meeting. With our last meeting almost six months ago, we thought it would be a great time to get everyone together and celebrate some of the hard work that has been put into the business since November and how Aqueous has come on since then!
After helping themselves to a hot drink and a cookie (or two!), our team’s day began with a brands quiz, hosted by our very own Director of HR, Mandy. The quiz was eventually won by Jo, Emma and Owen who recognised the most brand logos out of the entire team! Nice work guys!
What did we get up to?
The day was then spent talking about some key aspects of the business such as HR, our highly anticipated new CRM system and how the business has grown since its humble beginnings back in 2011. We were also given an insight into how the company has performed recently and how it is predicted to perform over the next couple of months, with a few incentives thrown in for good measure which we’re all excited about!
The Aqueous team were then introduced to Mark Mars, an SEO specialist who has been kind enough to work with us, and will be providing some helpful tips and tricks. Mark then told us all about his ‘Niche Empire Project’, which gave the team some great ideas to help with their work in the future!

Our State of the Nation meetings are also a great opportunity to recognise the time and hard work that goes into building our business, so Emma, our Director of Sales Operations thought it would be fantastic to surprise some of our amazing team! Starting with Ian, our Sales Director and Jo, our head of Telesales, who have both worked tirelessly with us for 2 years! We’re extremely grateful for all the incredible work that both Ian and Jo have done since joining the team at Aqueous back in 2017 and have brought some amazing clients in over the last 24 months.
A chance for recognition…
We also wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate both Devon and Caitlin who have recently been promoted to Digital Marketing Analysts. As well as recognising Paul for passing his six-month probation with us. All three of them joined the Aqueous team between September and October last year and have come on leaps and bounds since. We thought it was crucial that we recognise them for all their hard work.
At last but at certainly no means least, we congratulated Mandy for being promoted to Aqueous’s Director of HR! Mandy works tirelessly every day making sure that all things HR and finance run as smoothly as possible, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without her!
The day was enjoyed by all, and was a great way of keeping everybody in the loop and sharing some exciting plans for the next few months.
